Using an external application to connect to MySQL

You may occasionally wish to connect to your MySQL database on your free hosting account using third-party software, such as a desktop database manager (such as MySQL Workbench) or a custom application (like an Android or iOS app).

Only PHP scripts uploaded to your free hosting account or our phpMyAdmin installation will allow you to interact with your database.

Premium hosting includes the option to connect to a database. You receive cPanel with premium hosting, which includes the Remote MySQL area, which allows you to provide remote systems access to your databases.
